Is passing through an unmanned checkpoint illegal?

An interesting question is whether the people who passed through this unmanned checkpoint without being screened commit any crime or violate any regulation?

Of course, the idea of the TSA screening them after they get off their flights perfectly illustrates the absurdity of the TSA as a whole. How could such post-flight screening possibly improved airline security? It seems the only thing it might do is make the TSA feel better.
